NASA facilities

This links and resources section of our site contains links to NASA facilities.

NASA Headquarters
NASA Headquarters, in Washington, D.C., provides overall guidance and direction to the agency. Ten field centers and a variety of installations around the country conduct the day-to-day work in laboratories, on air fields, in wind tunnels, and in control rooms.

NASA Dryden Research Center
NASA Dryden Flight Research Center is a tenant of Edwards Air Force Base and is located on the western edge of the Mojave Desert, about 90 miles north of Los Angeles. Its mission is to advance technology and science through flight.

NASA / Marshall Space Flight Center
Located on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, Marshall provides the multidiscipline engineering expertise behind propulsion and transportation systems such as the space shuttle and Ares rockets. Marshall continues to enable scientific discovery through development of hardware and instruments for projects including the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the GLAST Gamma-ray Burst Monitor, and Gravity Probe B. The center develops, integrates, and operates major components and systems on the International Space Station and supports its operations around the clock.

NASA Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field
Glenn's main campus is situated on 350 acres adjacent to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It has more than 140 buildings that include 24 major facilities and over 500 specialized research and test facilities

NASA Langley Research Center
When the United States decided to return to the moon, NASA returned to where the U.S. space program started, near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in Hampton, VA NASA's Langley Research Center was the initial home of the first astronauts, the Mercury 7. Now the Center is working to design and test a new launch abort system for the next generation space capsules.

NASA Kennedy Space Center
Official site for NASA's center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Site offers visitor information, educational resources, history, and schedule of launches and landings.

NASA / Goddard Space Flight Center
Organization of scientists and engineers dedicated to the knowledge of the Earth, solar system, and universe.

NASA Ames Research Center
NASA Ames Research Center, located at Moffett Field, California, was founded Dec. 20, 1939 as an aircraft research laboratory by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) and in 1958 it became part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

NASA / Johnson Space Center
Johnson Space Center (JSC) is home to the NASA astronaut corps and is responsible for training space explorers from the United States and our space station partner nations. The Mission Control Center at Johnson Space Center directs all space shuttle missions, including international space station assembly flights.

Space Calendar
The Space Calendar covers space-related activities and anniversaries for the coming year. Included are over 1,800 links to related home pages

NASA / JPL Imaging Radar
Located in Pasadena, California.

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
NASA's lead center for robotic exploration of the solar system. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) continues as a world leader in science and technology, breaking new ground in the miniaturization and efficiency of spacecraft components. At the same time, the Laboratory is pushing the sensitivity of space sensors and broadening their applications for a myriad of scientific, medical, industrial and commercial uses on Earth.

NASA Thesaurus
STI (scientific and technical information) is the collected set of facts, analyses, and conclusions resulting from scientific, technical, and related engineering research and development efforts, both basic and applied.
